Goal individual tactics in the attacking third to play through the middle

Objective - To get the ball to the forwards and use the midfielders to support the attack

Setup: 

  • 8 v 7 in half the field with the focus team attacking 3 mini goals
  • 3  x 7 minutes and 3 minute rest

Position- 

  • is the forward checking between the lines after offensive midfielder clears the space
  • one of the central midfielder players passes forward and the other goes forward to receive in between or behind the lines

Speed - is the player executing at the right speed, transition

Moment - does the player recognize the movement on and off the ball

Directions - does the player in the right direction

Other: 

  • receiving and turning accurately at pace
  • loud communication from passers and receivers
