speed up slow down, first touch and pass.
The server will call out 2 numbers (if you have 4 different colour cones call out a colour) the player must move to those cones in that order but always facing the server with the ball. As the player travels to the second cone the server will fizz the ball in. The player must the control the ball and pass it back in 2 touches.
The player will practice receiving the ball on the move and receiving the ball at different angles, their first touch must take them into space if they are to play back in 2 touches.

Ideally this is better with a server but can be done against a wall or bounce board as well.
server plays the ball between the cones the players first touch must then take them outside of the cones before they play the ball back.
Needs to be a big positive first touch, increase and decrease the distance between the cones to make it easier/ harder.
Use different parts of the foot to receive the ball, recognise the speed off the pass and direction and the quickest way to get the ball back to the server.

Running with the ball. This one might need to be done in the park. This can also be done without the ball, record your time and see if you can beat it.
40 x 40 yard square with 5 x5 square in the middle. start between cones 4 and 1. run into the centre square and then around cone 1, back into the centre square and around cone 2 and so on until you get back to where you started. then rest and go the opposite way around the square.

slow down speed up (15 mins)
Improve change of speed and direction, slow down and speed up.
Place the cones 8 yards apart (smaller if less space) how quickly can you run to the cone and change direction before running to the next one.
Start off practicing getting as close to the cone and slowing down without stopping before changing direction.
complete the run as quickly as possible, record your time and see if you can beat it.
Then get a ball involved, the slowing down and speeding up running techniques shouldn't change, its just more difficult with a ball.
