Organization: Passing and Receiving Technique Warmup
3 cones 15 yards apart. Player A passes/receives from one cone. Player B moves amongst and passes and receives from alternate cones.
Player A and B switch after a few minutes; Make players alternate receive and pass with both feet
Coaching Points:
Receiving Ball
Communication: Ask for ball
Move body to receive ball properly
2 touch receipt of ball..
-on toes
-with back foot
-off ball line to space
-@ playable distance
Passing Technique
Eyes on Ball, not on target
Lock the ankle
Pass through the target, not to the target
Body over ball, weight going forward
Proper strike on ball to keep ball down

Organization: 1v1 Defense Tunnel
- 2 lanes of cones, 10 yards wide, 30 yards long
- Players evenly divided on either side of cone
Instructions: Player A passes to Player B and then closes on Player B when Player B recieves the ball. Player A receives the ball and tries to drible to other end while Player B defends
Coaching Points:
-GO - Close Quickly
-SLOW AND LOW - slow down upon approach
-SIDE ON - approach at angle, not flat
-JOCKEY - Maintain arms length distance, press them against the cone line to put them at a disadvantage
-100% - Let them make the mistake, not you
-RECOVERY - If you make a mistake, recover quickly

Organization: GK Play out of Back
Full Youth Field, 6 v 6, field divided into 3rds 2y cones and 3 10x10 boxes in the center zone
Instructions:
Objective is to move ball out of the back, through center third, and attack from there.
-Keeper must throw or roll ball to defenders
-Only 1 player on same team (midfielder) can come back to assist defenders move to ball to neutral zone
-Pass must be made to one of the boxes in neutral zone to begin attack on other side
-Defenders stay on their side of field.
-Only 2 attackers allowed to attack and must return to neutral zone once GK has posession to defend neutral zone
Variations to add difficulty
-Allow 1-2 players to press on defenders after keeper gets posession.
-Dont allow a midfielder to come back and help move the ball
-Require 2-4 complete passes before moving to the neutral zone
-Require one pass back from neutral zone before attacking (forward, set, slide training)
Coaching Points:
-No flat passes/passes as angle
-Use all players to progress the ball (including Keeper)

Organization:4 Box Game
40x40 Grid, 5x5 boxes in each corner
3 v 3
Instructions:
Players must complete a pass to one of the boxes for a point. 5 points wins. Cannot score in the same box consecutively.
Coaching Points
Defensive - 1v1 skills and techniqe points, Cover/Marking skills and tecnique points
Offensive - Passing/Receiving properly and open to space, movement of the ball away from pressure, 3 second rule/Movement to space

Instructions:
1) Basic Footskills Warmup - Players dribble around open space and then on command, do the following
-Inside Roll
-Outsoide Roll
-Toe Roll
-Sole/Heel Roll
-Bell Touches
-Inside Ouside Rollovers
-V outside Pull Push
2) Coach New Skill (Cruyff,matthews, etc)
Coach teachesa new skill every practice or reinforces skill not seen executed during previous practice and/or week
3) Iscocoles Triangle Turn Skills Activity - Layout several triangles 10-15 yards apart. Enoough Triangles for a maximum of 3 players per triangle (perferably 2 per triangle)
Coaching Points:
In addtion to key points for each move above during the triangle activity, consider the following
-Use of change of speed/Accelleration on dribble and out of move
-Ask questions to get players to "self-diagnose" what they could be doing to improve on moves
