Passing and receiving session designed to build fundamental football skills through structured passing drills.
Passing drill is set up for 12 players. set up 6 cones approx 15 mtrs away from each other and approx 5 mts apart. position 2 players behind each cone. 3 balls are required and positioned behind the cones. first player makes a pass to the player on the opposite cone then follows his/her pass the opposite player then controls the ball before playing it back to the next player again following his/her pass. Spare balls will be placed around the training area.

Progressions: This is a basic passing and receiving drill which can be progressed by introducing a one-two with the players or by having the player who makes a pass to close down the player receiving the ball making them have a touch to take the ball away from the oncoming player before making a pass.
Challenges, Conditions or Targets: Challenge - Can you use you weaker foot to make passes? Can you use your weaker foot to control the ball and limit the touches to get the ball under control. Target - to minimise the touches it takes to get the ball under control.

Coaching points:
focus on passing accuracy both long and short passes
players to keep moving after a pass
Use both feet
praise good passes/first touches
Progressions:
Add zones into the pitch -certain players can only go into certain zones (Wingers, defenders etc.)
limit the amount of touches players can have before making a pass
Conditions:
Team to make certain number of passes before they can score.
No goal keepers
must score with first touch
