Activity 1:
Activity / Moment: Working with outside back on managing distance between himself and opposition winger (Winger is a true 7/11 w/ speed to get in behind and good 1v1 capabilities)
- Sequence starts with quick 2-pass rotation to simulate ball shifting and outside back moving with the winger; once the ball gets to the coach acting as a left back, winger creates counter-movement and comes down to either get the ball to feet creating a 2v1 with the 10 coming off cone to join. This creates a situation where the outside back must delay and force the game wide to prevent shot into counter-goal.
- OR the winger can come down then look to spin to run behind where the outside back must quickly change direction and run to win the ball and prevent the winger from dribbling over the cone line at the top of the 18-yard box
*Adequate rest after each rep with outside backs and wingers rotating to ensure rest > exercise is more tactical than physical
*Use spare outsdie backs resting to play the channel ball
