Set Up
Defensive 4 as per a game. Teams of 3 attack freely, offside rule is active. The back 4 have to sprint from the 18 yard box, to touch line and back out again. This will improve fitness and ensure they are organising while on the move.
Coaching Points
Defenders must organise and communicate, stay narrow. Keep in line. Shuffle side to side.
Be patient, don't dive in and risk a miss challenge.
Problems/Solutions
Problem, pass keeps getting through the line. Solution, keep tighter to your teammate. make the split pass very difficult to complete.
Problem, conceding a lot of shots. Solution, apply better pressure to the player in possession.

Att v Def. Back 4 with 2 CDMs and 1 CAM, offside is active. Open play with emphasis on back 4 organisation.
Coaching Points:
- Organise constantly, shuffle together, move with the ball.

Defending in 2s (15 mins)
Set up
5v2 rondo, with a small square with the boundary line. The 2 defenders must prevent a pass through the central square. Every pass through the square is a point for the team in possession.
Coaching Points
Pressure and support, one player pressures the ball, the other supports, covering the pass through the square.
Angles, reduce the chance of a pass by approaching the ball at the right angles, use your teammates for support in the right areas.
Problems/Solutions
Problem, Conceding to many points. Solution, communicate with teammate to cover the angles or apply pressure.
Quick movements, don't give the opposition time on the ball.
