half pitch
9v8 plus GK on the red team with the blue GK acting as a server for this practice.
Blues are playing in a 3-2-3
Reds are playing in a GK-4-4
25 mins 5 blocks of 4 mins with 1 min breaks for interventions
coach to coach blue team on creating and exploiting overloads the welsh way attacking principles
assistant coach to manage red team on defensive principles to challenge attacking team and to add realism
conditions challanges and targets
Play starts with the server (gk) looking to play to either full-back or the CB/CDM.
The blue team will look to create and exploit the overloads on the wings using the winger, full-back, and supporting central midfielder to form a triangle.
The CB/CDM must always look to be free for the easy pass as he can either switch play, or break the line
or play backwards to the server illustration shows the Blues RB driving forward to bring his defender closer before looking to pass to either supporting player. The passing lines indicate the passing options each player has if they receive the ball as the oppositions defenders (red) will most likely get dragged out their position in order to mark the available players
.Challenge players to be brave and creative when exploiting the numerical advantage.
Coach movement from the central players to get on different receiving lines so we can look to play triangles
can we look to get crosses in on goal for goal shooting opportunities
if red team win the ball back Can they counter upon winning possession and score in either mini goal 6 seconds in possession
Press the ball as much as possible.
