Overview
We split the group in two and play 3 v 2. Here we start working on both attacking and defending overloads.
Often in a game of 7 v 7 the back line can find itself against a 3 v 2 overload.
The red team serves the ball out to the blue CM.
Coaching Points
The wingers try to get at an angle ahead of the ball. Overlapping the CM
CB stay compact decide when to press, do not allow space to shoot. One of our principles is fast pressure no shots. Try to force wide
One press one cover. We want them in there game day pairs really to get that defensive relationship going.
Attacking team, CM can act as a pivot to switch the play or make underlapping runs to support winger. Use width to stretch the defence and play the ball quickly.
If the CB wins the ball they score by passing the ball in to the mini goals.

Ball Mastery & 1 V 1s
Overview
We start with one player one ball. We are getting the players comfortable on the ball.
We challenge them who can be the most skillful, freestyle show us what you have.
Then we support with a few basic actions.
>Inside and outside getting a cut across the ball.
>Use the sole of your foot to drag across the ball.
>How many turns do you know.
We then challenge the girls, to produce feints and roll pushes.
Progression
After 5 minutes we introduce the game. We ask the players to get in to pairs. They pass the ball when the coach blows the whistle they compete in 1 v 1. They score a point by crossing the red line. Once they have broken one line. Defender gives them space then they attack the other side. We will play 4 or 5 bouts. The rest period they pass and receive.
We are doing this as we want the players to be comfortable on the ball but really enjoy the 1 v 1 action as well.
