Key Factors

  • Always playing out from goalkeeper. Coach working with the pressing team (pink).
  • Once first pass is played striker to look to press the player with the ball
  • Once striker has pressed, whole team must press with the striker.

Organisation

Pink to set up 1-3-3-2

Angled pitch 

Opposition GK to start will ball and look to play the ball to a CB.

Striker to then look to press the ball (Coach to observe angle of approach to cut of pass)

Depending on where the ball is played will effect what movements players will need to make off the ball i.e. as in diagram if 1 cuts the passing line to other CB, 3 needs to engage player with ball 4 then needs to move across to cover space left with 3 going to press. 5 then needs to come inside leaving the furthest player.
