Organization:
-4 different spots double up the cones if lots of athletes.
Practice:
Player A makes a sweep hit pass to player B who receives open and behind the cones.
Player B makes a pass to player C who does the same
Player C makes a sweep hit pass into the channel.
Player D does a double lead from a post up reception to an open reception into the channel for a quick shot on goal.
Points for attention of objective:
Connect passes with strong ball speed
Two touch hockey
Quick leading and receiving
Technical points for attention:
Stay low and rotate your hips durning sweep hit.
Always receive open in this drill.
Point your hips and stick to where you want to pass the ball.
When receiving the ball show where you want the person to pass to.

Add a forward to create pressure on transfer.

Carry the ball at speed
Keep the ball on stick
Technical points for attention:
Make sure to dribble the ball out in front of us not in our bodies or feet.
Make eye contact to connect our passes.
Big drags to eliminate defenders
Variations:
Change the elimination skills to a lift or drag the opposite way.
Use different passing techniques such as a sweep or push pass off the left foot.

Passing on the run (20 mins)
Set up 2 cones roughly 5 yards apart and a goal 15 yards away.
Get the players to line up behind both cones and pass back and forth while moving towards the net. Once they have reached a certain point (can be a cone marker or the D) whoever has the ball can shoot on net. Make sure they have their stick down when they are running as it acts as a target for the other player to aim for. Try to get them to pass at least 3 times before shooting.
Coaching tips:
-Make sure the players' feet are pointed forwards (towards net) and their feet aren't planted and static when they are receiving/passing the ball.
-you can make it a competition by getting the players to count how many passes they make before shooting (but make sure they are still moving forward)
-to improve shooting accuracy, remind them to look up and make sure the ball is rolling towards the net before they shoot.
Progression:
- move the cones farther apart or further away from the net
- player on the left cone can practice receiving on their backhand
- add a defender so it's a 2 v 1. The attackers can begin passing and approaching the goal. Once they reach a certain point the defender can try to steal the ball (preferably) or hit it away.
