THE SESSION: Skill Intro
Setup a square 8ms x 8ms, with gates in the centre of each sideline, and a diamond in the middle.
1 player in each gate (2 with balls), 2 in the centre zone.
Players in the middle will receive a ball from the outside, touch and turn to play to another player on the outside that doesn't have the ball.
The rule is that you can't receive off the person you have just played the ball to, so the inside 2 players have to find the other ball and receive a pass off of them.
PROGRESSIONS:
Alternate pairs in the middle.
Race against other groups.
KEY MESSAGES:
How does the players first touch help the direction of play?
Weight of pass, and passing technique.
Players need to think about where the ball is coming from, and which is the free player.

THE SESSION: Skill Game
Add goals at one end of the square.
Add poles to end zones (crossing zone) and add 3 cones each side of crossing zone to create passing lanes for cutback and flat balls.
Setup 3 lines of players behind remaining gates, with one player in centre area.
Player at far end passes ball to player in centre, who chooses a side to go, then plays a ball to the wide players between the gates (same as Skill Intro).
Wide receiving player then runs the ball along the line, past the pole, then crosses the ball to the attacking zone.
Centre player, after playing pass times a run into atacking zone to receive ball and strike to score.
Players collect the ball, then go to next line.
PROGRESSIONS:
Alternate attacking sides.
Have starting player also make run into attacking zone.
Add defenders.
KEY MESSAGES:
Crossing technique.
Choosing type of cross; flat ball, cut back, lofted ball to far side.
Timing attacking run.
