·        non-kicking foot beside ball

·        head over ball

Observation/interventionconsiderations:

Based on observations, demonstrate how to receive the ball andopen body to be ready to perform the mechanics of shooting.

Are players receiving the ball well and putting themselves in agood position to shoot?

Are players performing the shooting mechanics correctly?

Is a group or individual intervention necessary?

Coaching position: Depending on thenumber of coaches, One coach either side standing next to goal on passing sideto observe the striker who will be facing the coach?

Is the distance between each goalallowing the player to take a touch out of feet and get a shot in without itbeing to far away/too close

Is the initial pass reaching thestriker?

Based on observations, increase ordecrease area size.

3 turns each then swap

Organisation

Now passer follows pass to become defender.  And a Goalkeeper is introduced

Players play 1v1. Defender passes the ball out to the attacker to has to try and score on the goal. Play is over if the defender wins the ball or the attacker dribbles past the middle cones.

Encourage players to be positive. Attackers don't have to beat the defender. Can they create a yard of space to shoot on the goal.

Conidiations and observations.  - as per the technical

Mechanics

Shooting

SSG (20 mins)

Key Factors

  • Shooting in the small sided game

Organisation

  • 35x25 pitch
  • red cones mark the scoring zones
  • even teams (bibbed)

Observation/interventionconsiderations:

Based on my observations - consider moving the red zone lines closer/further away dependent on the level of success (regression/progression)

Are players performing the mechanics correctly

Increase the amount of points for a goal outside the line to as motivation to increase tempo if game goes quiet.

20 Minutes game
