Activity 2 (35 mins)
Learning (continued...)
Continue to work with black team in attack to create chances and ultimately score more goals. Mindset as much as technique is a focus for scoring mentality.
3v3 in each half, aim to play into forwards in opposite zone and for quick finish on goal.
3 teams, so 1 team (yellow) on the edges being 1-touch bounce players. Coach in the flow of activity, also opportunity to have 1:1 targeted conversations with players on the outside.
Area is a 50x30 space
3v3 in each half (defending team has their gk), so play should have high tempo and result in high scoring opportunities.
Players must stay in their own zones, until progressions added.
Play high tempo 4 minute games and rotate teams. Cycle per team is 2 games in and 1 game out.
Teams to keep record of their number of wins to keep competitive.
Key points to bring out depending on quality of play:
Overall, take responsibility for outcomes...how many shots taken, goals scored, matches won?
Progressions to include are:

Activity 3 (20 mins)
Implementation
Open play scrimmage.
If possible play on full sized 7v7 field.
Play 3x9 minute mini games and see score at end of each.
Look for reflection of outcomes in attack:
As needed can stop and freeze for examples of where shots could've been taken to increase attacking threat from a team.

Warm-Up
Pairs passing on arrival, dynamic stenches and rondos.
Activity 1 (35 mins)
x2 groups
4v3 in 30x20 box towards goal.
Orientation
Work initially with white group to stay compact, low block, frustrate and force play back and away from goal, looking to deny goal scoring opportunities for black team.
Black team begins with ball from the top and aim is to score goals.
White team score points by winning ball and passing/dribbling into shaded area.
Points: White team - 1 point for making it to shaded area. Black team 1 point for shot on target, 3 points for goal.
Play 4x6 minute rounds. Combination of coach in flow to praise defensive shape of white team early and guided questioning at changeovers (how can we deny space centrally? how can we deny chances to score?)
Aim is for scoring opportunities to be limited if white team does initial role well.
If needed to progress difficulty of problem, make even numbers or add underload so defenders have advantage.
Any additional players can rotate in for attack/defensive team each possession to keep involvement and tempo high.
Key points for white team are low block, stay compact, deny faces centrally, force opponent to play in front of you and backwards.
Learning
Work closer with black team to find higher quality scoring opportunities.
Begin with body shape to receive facing forward to see if scoring chance is possible, speed of decision making on shoot/pass/dribble when in possession, types of finish (power or placement?)
