Animation 1
POSSESION BASED GAME.
Drill Objectives.
The ball to be played from one end to another.
A goal is scored when the ball is played into either a coach or player beyond the byline.
The ball must be played through one of the shaded areas in the middle zone before scoring a goal or point.
In addition in the final 3rd for the attaching team at least 1 pass has to be completed along with a pre-determined number of attaching players also in that zone.
In this animation it is 3 players.
To add a bit more of a positive movement to the drill the attacking team also cant have any players in there own defensive 3rd to score a goal.
Once a goal is scored it is a simple case of the attaching team the becomes the defending team.
COACHING NOTES.
This should be a 2 or 3 touch drill.
The wide shaded zone should encourage getting the ball wide and making the pitch big while attacking.
Completing a pass in the last third along with having a number of players in that area should encourage positive forward movement and supporting high up the pitch.
Goals can only be scored in the attacking third of the pitch.
This is the same with having no defender left in the first third, this encourage getting forward and offering support.
