Duel for Three Goals

Organization:

Set up as shown in a smaller area in front of the goal.

Instructions:

- Players are divided into two teams i.e Red and Blue as shown.

- Activity starts with the first player in the Red team i.e Player A passing to Player C, as soon as the ball is being played into Player C, first defending blue player in line applies immediate pressure on player C and attempts to stop red Player A from scoring.

- Player C needs to check out and check back in to receive the ball from Player A, turns around either pole before heading for the large goal to finish. If the blue defender wins the ball off red Player C, the blue defender can score in either counter goal.

- Once the shot is taken by red Player C or the ball goes out of play, Player C quickly transition to defending and attempt to stop the blue player that was defending against him from scoring into the counter goals. The blue defender now becomes an attacker and look to make deceptive runs and receive the ball from either blue server from the side to finish in the counter goal.

- A player has six seconds to score on goal.

- Rotation - A-B-C-A.

- Team switch roles on coach's call.

Coaching Points/Questions:

- Quality finish.

- Quick transitions; Attacking to defending and defending to attacking.

- Closing shooting angles while defending.

- Defender should be brave, aggressive and stop the attacker from scoring.
