Main Moment: BPO
Key Principle: deny opposition time and space to build up
Football Problem (using the 5W’s):
What: Knowing when to press and when to cut of the forward pass.
Who: #9,#10,#8 and #6
When: When opposition are switching play in front third
Where: front 3rd
Why: There is to much distance between our players
Football Problem: We are not compact enough to cut the forward pass off in our opponents back 3rd.
Session Objective: I aim to improve….. my team's ability to move as a compact unit across the front line to deny our opponents combining with there midfield with a forward pass.

Football Problem: We are not compact enough to cut the forward pass off in our opponents back 3rd.
Session Objective: I aim to improve….. my team's ability to move as a compact unit across the front line to deny our opponents combining with there midfield with a forward pass.
Team Task: Get our #7,#11, #9 & #10 into better positions to press the ball carrier and cut off the forward pass
Player Tasks: (General / Position-specific):
#9
-Move in the direction of where the ball is played.
-1st player to press the ball
-Can not be beaten in a 1v1.
-When the GK play the #3, force them toward the sideline with an angled run
-Cut off the back pass to the GK as the #5 or #2 receive the ball limiting there options.
-Work both sides of the park across the front line.
#10
-If the #9 presses high, can you press the #6 or #8 depending on which side the ball is played.
-Cut off the forward passing lanes into the there midfield (#6 & #8)
#6 & #8
-When our #10 presses high to support, can you pick up there midfield players #6 & #8 or #10
-Support by sliding across in behind #11,#9,#7
-Hold the space in between to cut off the passing lanes
-Position yourself in between the lines of our opposition.
-If one goes the other holds.
#7 & #11
- Look to cut off the forward passing lanes should the #3 or #4 receive the ball.
-Press the wide fullback (#5 or #2) forcing them to play wide options.
-Hold the play up to allow time for support to create a 2 v 1.
-If the ball is on the other side, tuck in to support the #9
-Look to anticipate the back pass, if the opponent plays a negative pass.
-Angle the your run to force them towards the 2v1 or sideline.

Football Problem: We don't get behind the ball quick enough when beaten through central areas.
Session Objective: I aim to improve….. my team's ability to make the recovery runs to get behind the ball through central areas.
Team Task: Win possession in central areas by delaying/holding up opponents until support arrives from #10,#6 & #8.
Organisation:
-Grid 30m x 40m (Halfway 18 yard box)
-5 v 5
-3 small goals
-3 teams
Explanation:

-BLUE score in small goals
-RED beat the GK once they win the ball.
-Ball start with GK (or Coach disgression to mix it up so both teams are working BPO)
-All players must be behind the halfway to start and they have 5 sec to recover)
