SET UP:
-Tails. All players have a bib (that they tuck into their shorts to create a tail).
-1/ Players must move to evade partner and try to steal their partners bib.
-2/Same game but now players will have to do this whilst dribbling a football.
KEY POINTS:
- WHAT TYPE OF MOVEMENT S CAN YOU USE TO GET AWAY FROM A DEFENDER? (FEINTS/DOUBLE MOVEMENTS)
- CHANGE IN DIRECTION/SPEED/TOUCHES
- PERCEPTUAL AWARENESS (WHERE IS THE DEFENDER? WHERE IS THERE AVAILABLE SPACE?)
- CAN I MAKE THE SAME MOVEMENTS WITH A BALL?
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS:
- All v all instead of isolated 1v1.
- Continue to play if no/double bibs.

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
SET UP:
- 1v1 on pitch with feeder on outside.
- Attacker will start with a bib in hand next to the defender.
- Attacker can move freely in box with defender nearby. As soon as the attacker drops the bib they can receive from the feeder. The defender can only start to defend once they have picked up the bib.
KEY POINTS:
- MOVEMENT TO CREATE SPACE (FAKES/FEINTS/DOUBLE MOVEMENTS)
- MOVE TOWARDS BALL TO GO AWAY/ MOVE AWAY FROM BALL TO COME CLOSE.
- CAN I RECEIVE THE BALL SO THAT I AM FACING TOWARDS GOAL/FORWARD? (HOW CAN I DO THIS?)
- BODY SHAPE/POSITION/ANGLE
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS:
- Progress to regular 1v1 where player has to escape pressure to receive.

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
SET UP:
- Same set up as previous game. This time the attacker in the area will start with the ball (with defender behind).
- To start, the attacker will pass back to the player at the top of the area and then will play a 2v1 vs the defender.
KEY POINTS:
- MOVEMENT TO CREATE SPACE (FAKES/FEINTS/DOUBLE MOVEMENTS)
- MOVE TOWARDS BALL TO GO AWAY/ MOVE AWAY FROM BALL TO COME CLOSE.
- CAN I RECEIVE THE BALL SO THAT I AM FACING TOWARDS GOAL/FORWARD? (HOW CAN I DO THIS?)
- BODY SHAPE/POSITION/ANGLE
- WHEN TO PASS? WHEN TO DRIBBLE? (WHAT WILL IMPACT THIS?)
- IS THERE A CLEAR PASSING LINE BETWEEN ME AND THE PASSER? CAN I ADJUST MY MOVEMENT SO THAT I MIGHT BE ABLE TO RECEIVE EASILY?
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS:
- Additional goal for defender to score in if they win ball.
- Player in area is only player that can score for attackers.
Review / Reflect (to be completed after each session)..

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
SET UP:
- Return to SSG with conditions relating to topic.
- 1v1 in either half. Players are locked in.
- Players switch halves after a goal is scored.
KEY POINTS:
- CAN I MOVE SO I AM IN SPACE TO RECEIVE?
- HOW MIGHT I NEED TO MOVE TO GET AWAY FROM A DEFENDER? (FEINTS/DOUBLE MOVEMENTS)
- IS THERE A CLEAR PASSING LANE BETWEEN ME AND THE PASSER?
- MOVE TOWARDS BALL TO GO AWAY/ MOVE AWAY FROM BALL TO COME CLOSE.
- CAN I RECEIVE THE BALL SO THAT I AM FACING TOWARDS GOAL/FORWARD? (HOW CAN I DO THIS?)
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS:
- Remove zones. Can players still make movements to get away from a defender and into space?
