Organization:
-10 to 12 players
-see diagram for setup (cones, pug nets, pinnes & balls)
Instructions:
1. Ball begins with the team that has 3 players on the pitch. White play the ball across to Yellow to begin the activity. Yellows attack with a 4v3 advantage, and if Yellow scores, they receive a point and play ends while players switch.
2. If Yellow do not score, last player on the Yellow team to touch the ball (missed shot, errant pass, loss possession) they drop two players and White then transitions 3v2.
Variation:
Add bumper players that the White team can use to transition. This will encourage them to play the ball wide out of the back when on the counter attack and play 5v3.
Coaching Points:
-delay the attack
-make opposition play predictable
-when and where to apply pressure
-how to make the third attacker less relevant by positioning and approach angles
-speed of counter attack

Every player inside a large zone, every player has a ball. Each player dribbles the ball around avoiding contact with other players. On the coach’s signal, the players perform the footskill that was demonstrated. In between signals, the players should be focused on getting frequent touches. They do not need to run extremely fast, but they should be touching the ball very frequently.
•Skills to work on: Patterns: Zig-Zag, Roll. Turning: Pullback, inside and outside Chop. Forward: Stab Push, Scissors, 1-Foot V-Pull.
