Organisation (Practice Layout & Transition)
From this phase is onus to build up play through the thirds building from previous technical practice. From the prior practice players should be up to speed with the intensity of the session & warm to that the technical aspects of the session are built on with timings of movement/ where & when's for movement. The players will be split into 2 teams. Aiming for approx 20 players but can tweak in accordance to more/less numbers. The ball will be played from goalkeeper to centre back , then out to the respective full back of the side of the centre half(on this video it is the right side). The right back then plays the ball inside to then CAM who will then lay the ball back to the CDM. When the ball is laid back from the CAM to the CDM the wingers & centre forward need to be thinking immediately this is our trigger to hit the space beyond the last line of defence. The CDM will slide the ball between the mannequined line of CB & FB. On this diagram the the right winger is slotted in. When the right winger receives in behind the striker needs to attack near post/central zone with the left winger looking to hit the far post if anything is laid across to a deep area for a first time shot. This will then be reciprocated by the blue team , this allows respective players to reset shape. Given this should be done at high intensity & high speed then players shouldn't be standing around for long periods & the session should flow. Going into the 2nd phase of the session different units will have flat discs colour coordinated on the floor. Centre backs are red , full backs blue , CDM is purple , right winger is orange , left winger is white with CAM & Strikers as burgundy. The onus in this phase of the practice is to allow a sense of freedom to build up , players then are encouraged to think for themselves & they are learning the principles of play rather than learning the session. The onus of the colours are they cant play into a player who is the same colour as them. If the build up becomes slow & stagnates we may look to introduce a pass/time limit but the initial plan of the session is to build on the speed & intensity of play from the previous exercise. This will then build into an SSG
