This Practice is set for 12 Players (this can be adjusted with more or less Players by adjusting dimensions)
Total area required is 36yd x 36yds.
Players bibbed on arrival 6 red and 6 blue in readiness for skill practice afterwards
Spare footballs located outside grid by coach who will put a ball in if one goes astray.
Group intervention to reinforcing or highlighting good technique by any players as well as any
progressions, challenges conditions.
1 to 1 interventions
Coach any players that require correcting, Player can be approached or just pulled to side for any 1 to 1
Interventions.

Technical Dribbling Progression 1
In this progression session we will be looking to improve on the mechanics of
dribbling in an partly opposed drill..
set up (same as Pervious)
set cones 20yds apart in straight lines (more can be added for more players)
Players in 2s behind each cone
1 ball at start of each line one side on both sides
Instructions:
Players from both sides to dribble across at the same time to player on opposite side Players to leave ball at feet of player
who will dribble back to opposite player.
Coach to observe from centrally allowing opportunity for Group and 1 to 1 Intervention.
Progressions/Challenges.
For the more abled players challenges can be set:
1. Week foot
2. different parts of foot
3. Team/Individual challenge number of completed dribbles.
Mechanics to be observed
1. Keep ball close
2. Vary surfaces of foot
3. Head up
4. Change of pace
5. Change of direction

Technical Dribbling Progression 2
In this progression session we will be looking to improve on the mechanics of
dribbling in an opposed drill.
set up
set cones 20yds apart in straight lines (more can be added for more players)
gates set centrally 5yds apart (Ideally with flats) these can be added in while players take on fluids
of while giving out instructions for next progression.
Players in 2s behind each cone.
1 ball at start of each line one side on both sides
Instructions:
Players from both sides to dribble across at the same time when approaching gates player will change direction to go around outside of the gates Left and then right ( direction needs to be made clear prior to start of drill, player will again leave ball at opposite players feet and this is duplicated.
Coach to observe from centrally allowing opportunity for Group and 1 to 1 Intervention.

Skill Session Dribbling
Practice is set for 12 players (can be adapted by increasing or reducing dependent on amount of players)
In this skill session we will be looking to improve on the mechanics of
dribbling in an opposed drill.
set up
Total are is set out 44yd x 28yd, each corner set a box 4yd x 4yds highlighted yellow in above diagram (ideally Flats)
6 Blue and 6 Red bibs (if not already set up.
If an odd number can use a 1 player in a neutral bib who will support team in possession.
Coach to stay central on ether touch line allowing opportunity to observe and use interventions when needed
Instructions:
4 players 2 from each team will be place in boxed areas (yellow)
5 players from each team will be in central zone (White)
players will pass between their team building up play and create opportunities
to dribble in to the zoned areas(Yellow) there corresponding player is in.
Player entering zone now stays in the zone other dribbles out, play continues.
team out of possession to apply pressure are retrieve possession.
Coach to observe from centrally allowing opportunity for Group and 1 to 1 Intervention.
Progressions/Challenges.
1. Team Scores - each successful transition in to opposite box is a goal/point.

Skill Session Dribbling Progression
set up (same as Skill session)
Addition of small goal between boxed areas.
Area between boxes zoned off with flats.
Instructions:
4 players 2 from each team will be place in boxed areas (yellow)
5 players from each team will be in central zone (White)
players will pass between their team building up play and create opportunities
to dribble in to the zoned areas(Yellow) there corresponding player is in.
When player dribbles in, that player is now activate and joins play creating a possible overload,
When both players have from team have been activated that team can now score in either goal.
To score player must dribble across the line of flats before scoring.
After scoring or losing possession a player must return to each zone.
Team out of possession to apply pressure and attempt to retrieve possession.
Coach to observe from centrally allowing opportunity for Group and 1 to 1 Intervention.
