Technical - Wide Channel Crossing/Finishing

1 plays 2 and then bounces back to 1. Followed by 1 playing wide to 3. Player 3 crosses to Player 1/2, who make front and back post runs.

Progression: Add a defender in the box.

Coaching Points:

- Timing of runs in the box, so that our hips are facing the goal as the ball arrives

- Are we playing firm passes to the wide channel? Are we leading the wide player, so that he can touch and serve?

- Where to serve? Surface of foot to serve with?

Crossing and Finishing - 2nd SIX

Player A passes to Player B, who beats the Blue Man 1v1 with a skill move and then drives a cross low and is trying to score in the small goal. Once player A has passed the ball to Player B, they sprint around the yellow cone and try to finish the ball in the big goal before it goes in the small goal.

Coaching Points:

- Timing of runs

- Cross the ball low to the '2nd SIX' (Area in between PK Spot and top of 6 yard box). Low driven ball.

- Finish 1 time, so that our hips are facing the goal.

- Movement from Player A, so they can see the ball.

Wide channel 4v3 Crossing Game

Coach serves a ball to Player A, who races with Player B to the ball in the wide channel. If they beat the defender to the ball they play a quick service and game turns 4v3 to Big Goals. If Player B gets to Player A before service then Player A will try to beat Player B on the dribble and serve.

If yellow team wins the ball, it is live and they attack the other goal.

4 Red players in game will try and time runs in to the box to serve from cross.

Rotate players, so they can play in different spots. You can also switch sides to give a different crossing angle.

Coaching Points:

- Timing of Runs (front post, back post, pk spot and player sitting outside of box 'collecting trash')

- Are we getting our head up to cross the ball to open man?

- Where is the dangerous space to serve the ball in the box.

6v6 wide channel game

Any Player can move anywhere. The only restriction is that the ball MUST go in to wide channel before scoring. After 15 minutes or so, take the restriction away and let them just play. If ball is stolen in wide channel, the other team can attack the goal.

Coaching Points:

- How can we get a player isolated or in open space in the wide channel.

- Once game has moved to no restrictions give them additional points if they score from service in wide channel.

- If left 1v1 in a wide channel, can we create space to serve?
