Objective: To improve offensive movement of supporting players to aid in possession.
Principles of Attack: Penetration: Getting the ball behind opponents. The role of the 1st attacker achieved through shooting, passing, or dribbling. Depth: The organization behind and in front of the first attacker. Role of the 2nd attacker. Mobility: The attempt of attacking players to penetrate and unbalance the collective defending action. Width: The disposition of attackers across the field to stretch the collective defending action.
Attacking Roles: 1st Attacker: player with the ball. Must achieve penetration by making the best tactical decision based on the players technical capabilities. 2nd Attacker: Player in immediate support of 1st attacker. Positioned at proper distance/angle to ensure that 1 defender can’t restrict both players. Must attempt to combine with 1st attacker to gain penetration through bent runs, overlaps, double pass, wall pass, takeover, etc. OR create space for 1st attacker to dribble in 1v1 situation. 3rd Attacker: Attempts to unbalance the defense by making constructive runs to increase the attacking options, ideally to penetrate. This allows the possibility of the 3rd attacker to receive the ball OR creating space behind his run for another attacker to join in.
Why Move?
1. To recieve the ball
2. To allow other attacking players to recieve the ball
3. To move defenders to unusual defensive positions
4. To strech the distances between defenders to create more space and time for play to develop
5. To Cause defenders a problem, to hesitate and be forced to make a decision
6. To create space for others to play in or run into with and without the ball
7. To create space and time for self
8. To hide from defenders as the ball moves
9. To provide different opponents with different defending challenges
10. To overload an area or opponent on the field

Always stay in a passing lane in relation to the ball. Timeing of movements in relation to ball movements and players first touch. Play pass to or for teammate. Timing of movements. accuracy and weight of pass. 1st touch outside of feet to set up next pass. Communication, eye contact, and body language of players.

Organization: 3 grids 15yds x 20yds. 4 teams of 4.
Instructions: 2v2 possession in each grid. 1 team is "free" and can support any 2v2 game to create an overload for team in possession, however once they touch the ball, they must exit the current grid and check into another. Change "free" team every 4 minutes.
Coaching Points: Movement of players to position support width/depth. Angles and distances to combine. When to play quickly and when to slow it down. Can "free team support all 3 games with movement to help retain possession? Timing of runs, awareness of who needs support.

Organization: 25x25 Grid with smaller 15x15 grid inside. Goals on outside. Can use full size or mini goals depending on numbers.
Instructions: The 4 whites in the ouside move the ball quickly, trying to play the ball to an inside white for a score. If blue players win the ball they can attack any goal. Blues can't leave inside box when out of possession.
Coaching Points: Blues should attack quickly, before the whites can recover. Can they combine in attack? Whites movement off the ball in support, quick movement of the ball to create opportunities to penetrate into the players in the box. Movement of players in the box to recieve the ball.

Organization: If numbers dictate, have GKs do individual work during Activities 2 and 3.
Instructions: On the shout of "Go" the Gk throws his ball in the air, catches a volley from the server and gets rid of it straight away and then catches his initial ball again.
To challenge further, the Gk then has to keep hold of the volley from the server and catch the second ball on top of the other one, forcing him to balance it.
