RWB Skil Introduction (10 mins)

Area Size: 2 or 3 x (15m x 15m). Players: 10-16 (Set up for 12, adjust as required) Divide players into three teams with different coloured bibs, with a pair in each area as shown

Explanation: Warm Up - allow each player a ball and unrestricted running with the ball inside the areas dribbling around random markers

Set up A players in pairs with one ball, all players on the move. The player on the ball passes to their partner. The receiving player must run the ball around any marker then passing back to their partner who then runs the ball around a marker and repeating the process.

Progression: (Set up B) Receiving players make a run that splits one of the other pairs on the way to a marker, passer makes run outside line of pair split to re-receive the ball

Coaching Cues: perception of players around, keep their head up, incorporate changes of direction when running with the ball, perception os space to run the ball into.use alternate non preferred feet,

RWB Skill Intro II (10 mins)

Progression: Skill Intro Competition: Using one of the area’s, the three teams line up as shown with a ball at the front. On the Coach’s call, the first line of players will run the ball to the other end, before turning and passing the ball to the next player in line. This process continues until all the players have transferred to the opposite end of the area then back to their original positions. The team that gets all their players back to the starting position first, is the winner

RWB Skill Training (10 mins)

Area Size: 30m x 50m. Players: 10--16 divided into three teams

Explanation: Two teams compete starting at each end line, one team stands along the side lines as bouncers, they can move freely along sidelines. Play starts with one player from each team running the ball to the half way line, first player across the half way line allows their team to enter the field and become the attacking team, the other player discards their ball to a bouncer and their team enters the field becoming the defending team.

RWB Skill Training II (10 mins)

Objective: Each team is to run the ball over their opponents end line, they can both use the bouncers, who must bounce the ball back to the same team they received from. Rotate teams through as bouncers

Progression; Teams must score through gates start to keep a score.

Step Up: teams limited to one bounce , Must use weaker foot when running with the ball

Step Down: Make the area wider.

RWB Skill Game (25 mins)

Explanation: Game starts with one teams from GK of base line with open play Before being able to shoot on goal, shots can only be from final third

Progression: take away internal lines and revert to unrestricted play, award ‘bonus goals’ to any teams that recognise the correct time to run with the ball.
