Explanation:
- 5 v 5 + 4
- Coach serves balls into either team from the side of the grid to start play
- Either team in possession is trying to combine and play a pass to the attacking team in the other grid
- There is no pass limit before being able to play through the grid
- Defending team is working collectively to press the ball carrier & block passing lanes
- If the defending team wins the ball, the team that loses the ball no turns into the defenders
Team Task: Can we press collectively to win the ball back as quick as possible?
Player Tasks:
- Can you influence the direction of the passes from the opposition?
- If you are the player supporting the press, can you try and block the obvious passing lanes forward?
Cues:
- As an opposing player receives the ball, can you arc your pressing run to force them to one side?
- When in support of the pressing player, can you position yourself between the ball and the defender?

Explanation:
- Play always starts from the goal keeper who will play to red
- Red are trying to score a goal by passing the ball into the mini goals
- Green are trying to press red (as shown above) to score in the goals within 10 seconds
Team Task: Can we win the ball close to the goal as possible and score?
Player Tasks:
- 7, 9 & 11, can you force the opposition to play to one side of the field?
- 10, can you block forward passes from the back into midfield?
- 6 & 8, can you support 7 & 11 to deny the forward pass into midfield?
Cues:
- 9, can you position your body to force the goal keeper to play left or right from the goal kick?
- 7 & 11, when the opposition 3 or 4 has the ball, can you position yourself to make it enticing for them to play the ball into 2 or 5?
- 10, as 9 presses the opposition, can you support him so the opposition cannot play forward into the midfield by blocking the passing lanes?
- 6 & 8, when 2 or 5 have the ball, can you position yourself to stop the goal being scored whilst affecting the decision making of your opposition 6 & 8?

Passing Practice (15 mins)
Explanation:
- Two grids of seven players which are both doing an identical practice
- Players will follow the passing sequence as stipulated above
- There will be two players who are passively pressing collectively
- Defensive players must be set in the positions prior to pressing
- Players will follow a logical order when move onto the next receiving position
Progression 1:
- Players can make any pass they wish as long as the ball touches every player before going back to the start
Perception:
- Players communicating about defensive pressure or calling for the ball
- Players constantly scanning (especially important when given the freedom to play which pass they wish)
Decision:
- Players to decide which pass to play and when to play it
Execution:
- Speed of pass
- Body position
- Timing of the movement to receive ball
