Setup:
Field: ¾ pitch.
Players:
Equipment: 20 Blue cones. 20 Red Cones. 10 Blue bibs, 4 red bibs. 2Full size goals. 4 Pop up goals. 20 balls.
Explanation:
3 zones of 20 x 40.
5 Blue players in each end zone and 4 in the middle zone. 2x Goalkeeprsin their 18 yard boxes at the ends of the zones.
Ball starts with the keeper. Keeper plays the ball into the 1stzone. As soon as the 1st player takes a touch, 2 of the red players enter the zone and try to win the ball back. Blue team use any combination to find space so they are able to transition the ball to the other end zone.
When the ball enters the opposite end zone, the blue team attempt to score in 1of the PUGs with a 1st time shot. As the ball is transitioning from1 zone zone to the other, this is the trigger for the red players to enter the zone and the other red players vacate their zone and enter the middle zone. Red players in the middle zones should be looking to cut off any passing channels between the zones.
If the red team win the ball in either zone, they are immediately to try and score in either of the big goals.
Goalkeepers can be used. Goalkeepers are limited to 2 touch.
If the ball goes dead, play is restarted with the keeper at the opposite end.
Scoring Method:
Scoring: Blue Team, 1 point for each goal scored in a PUG
Red Team, 1 point for each goal scored in a big goal.Progression:
Team Task:
Can we get a player in the opposite zone on the ball, facing forward, inspace.
