Method:
Outline to players orientation, reason for session and what is expected. 2 Mins free play before coaching for 10 mins.11 V 11 paired back to 6 v 8, coaching the 6 players in red preventing the blue team playing out from the back. 3 mins de-brief/ Q&A at the end.
Coaching Points:
Objective of the blue team is to get the ball to their target man in the area marked with red discs. When this player receives the ball play resumes with blue teams goal keeper. Throws are in play. Focus on orientation especially at re-starts.
Red team is being coached on defending, their objective is to prevent the blues playing out and transition to attack and score. Focus on the striker making an arcing run on the centre half when ball is played, the red winger then moves towards the opposition full back, not man marking but getting close enough where he can attack if need be but is also cutting out a through ball from the centre half to one of his forward players. Red players on the opposite wing shift over in the direction of the play.

Coaching Points: Red team to focus on group movement and covering open spaces without man marking as per the coaching session.

Coaching Points:
Depending on numbers this can be one group promoting team building or split on two. Start with two players in the middle with a wide circle, then reduce to one player in the middle and tighten circle. 1 touch passing, if intercepted the man in the middle swaps with who ever made the bad pass
