Organization:
Half a gym two teams defenders 5s and attackers 9s
2 pug goals per grid
Instructions:
-players from the attacking line must race around the cone in front of them and recieve a pass
-defenders will also run around the cone but they have to leave 1 mississipi after
-when 9 receives they must take a first touch towards the opposite goal and score the players are allowed 2 touches :1 for set touch & 1 to finish
-the 9 gets 2 point for a goal and only 1 if he uses more than 2 touches, encouraging a good first touch to score quicker.
-if the defender steels they can transition to score in the opposite goal for a point
Coaching Points:
-First touch based on pressure from behind and angle for end product
-recognise shooting space
-protect asset if pressure is blocking, use sheilding technique to turn out of pressure or unballnce defender using moves to create shooting space.
Progression
-take away all touch restictions but award points for the less touches they score in.

Striking & finishing technical/1v1 (15 mins)
Organization
8x15 grid set up multiple grids depending on numbers
3x marker for triangle
groups of 4-6
1ball per player but have spares at the side
Instructions:
-players will dribble up to the triangle and finish into the pugs using the technique of coaches choice
-after they finish they will then become the ball collector behind the goal and the previouse ball collector can collect the finishers ball and head to the back of the line.
Coaching Points
-Finish 1(messi/lloyd).Using the out side of the foot to take a touch the opposite side of the goal before using the inside to finish across the goal to the opposite side
-finish 2 (suarez/press).using inside foot opening the hips using the same foot on the same side as the pug your finishing in. eg right foot into the right pug
-Finish 3(ronaldo/morgan) using a feint and quick touch before using the instep to drill the ball low and hard into the corner same side as the touch
-angle of approach
-surface of finish
-technical selection
-speed of finish after touch no pause
-opening hips at the last second
-follow up
-full pressure GK
-Observation of the Goalkeeper
-Choice of technique based upon distance, position of the GK
-Positive attitude towards finishing
-disguise finish eyes/angle/moves
Progressions:
1.add gk for full pressure
2.remove triangle and go live 1v1 with the keeper. keeper can transition on a save by serving to the next player inline as a target.
Coaching points for 1v1
Observe the GK position
-Choose correct surface based on the position of the GK
-low and in the corners (tough position for GK to guard against)
-Across goal if have gap (use inside of foot to curl)
-Ball movement to shift GK
-Deception of body to move GK
-Observing and judging the speed of the GK Can you finish early?
-Can you look to unbalance the GK and if so can you exploit by taking a big touch
-Shooting-Breakaways
-Judging the weight of the ball
-Observing and judging the speed of the GK (is the chip on? Or slide past him either side)
