Explanation: Transition possession practise. Three groups, old, middle aged and young. Abit of competition - non contact.. Coach plays ball in and the end team have to complete 6 passes then they have to transfer the ball down the side channels to score one [pint. The side channels are a little wider than a side step. Middle players can try and intercept but must have one foot in the central section. If the team in possession lose the ball, they must then become the defenders in the other end zone. One touch. One point will also be awarded if the middle team can win the ball and score in the mini goals (team loosing the ball has two transition factors now, press the ball that just lost and others press the opposite channel.
Size30 deep x15 wide
Timing: 6 mins
Team Task: Maintain possession and transfer under pressure.
Key Points: Quality under pressure, enticing pressure in and shifting the point of possession/penetration.

Pressing vs 4-diamond-2
Be really aggressive in the press first 15-20 mins, dont give them any time on the ball.
They look to play if you give them time and space, if disorganised get behind the ball and wait until we are set, force wide and lock them in.
Wingbacks start even more narrow than normal, and shift across onto extra midfielder when ball the opposite side. leave opposite side full back free when its gone wide (the right back in this instance)
Awareness of their 11 decent tricky, picks up decent positions, don't let her get in behind, track runs.
Be aware of long ball, and 2nd balls, defenders set positions where they feel comfortable dealing with the strikers but also providing supports for our front press so there is not big spaces between the lines
Slow in transition.

Build up,
Can outside centre backs drive in and take 2 strikers out the game.
Space for our wingbacks.
Midfielders start narrow, more ground to cover for their midfield to get over, if they push full back on can we release strikers 1 v 1 and 2 v 2 midfield under support when ball passes you into.
Final 3rd
They are poor at the back, get the ball into midfielders into strikers. 1v1 in particular they dive in they are overly aggressive, look to isolate players 1v1 and get at them.
Midfielders and wingbacks have desire to get into the box, good quality decisions in the final 3rd required weather thats final pass, run, cross or shot.
Keep them penned in their own half, be aggresive if we lose the ball and have numbers around the ball, big chances when they double transition in their own half.
