The keeper will start set behind number one the when the server shouts go it will be a strike off the floor into the keepers face, then he will move into number 2 after he has made the save for a volley from the server then he will backpaddle to 3 (key coaching tip watch for if he keeps his eyes on the server act as if it was a game situation if he isn't looking to the server pull him and tell him what he did wrong ) then number 3 will be a shot at the keepers face then he will move forward into 4 get set for a volley.
Progression
Rotate the number around ( swap 1 and 4 around ) this will create a different pattern and you will help your keepers understand the footwork that is required in different times and how they should be positioned when backpaddling. to start this drill i will use laisez-faire and if they start to do the session wrong i will use a autocratic style.
My voice will be used to command my players when they start/end and pause my drill.
Operational conditioning will be used to give my players mini rewards this will be out of the 3 keepers whoever catches the least amount of balls will receive a forfeit , this will be 10 press ups( resets after everyone has been through 1 time )
Observational learning will be used i will demonstrate to my players how to move through the cones what pattern to follow and also how they should be moving their feet this demonstration should last 20-25 seconds.
V- demonstrations, showing them how to do it and sometimes where they are going wrong. ( visual)
A- communication , telling them how they will do it and what they may be doing wrong
K- Letting the players do it themselves without having to tell them
All these are different ways of helping a player learn ( all players will learn differently.
Coaching points

Warm up
For a warm up the players will complete a game of one bounce ( two touch)
One bounce is where the players will keep the ball up but they can let it bounce once and they only have two touch's
This will help me see how my goalkeepers are under pressure an example of this is a dodgy back pass this will help me see if they had two touch's to give it to the defender how would they deal with it? and do they need help with it? in this part of the session i will use laisez-faire as it is a warm up.
