Playing low intensity tag
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
SET-UP: Pair each player with another one. One player(attacker) stands between two cones. The other one (defender) stands between other cones (cones are wider than the attackers ones) Attacker tries to touch a cone of the defender without being tagged, through body feints. If the defender tags him, they switch. After one minute you play against another player. Whoever has the most points, wins.
KEY POINTS: Use a good feint to 'trick' the opponent into moving towards the wrong cone. Wait untill the defender is off balance to try to get the cone.
When the players change opponents, make sure that they get enough rest before they start again.
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS: -Distance between cones is bigger/ smaller.
-Attacker is using a bib as a tail, the defender has to get the bib.
-Add ball to it, use body feints with the ball, stop ball at a cone.
Review / Reflect (to be completed after each session): Did the attacker use a body feint before he took the cone? Does he recognise the moment when to go for the cone?
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
SET UP: Two teams. Players in white bibs are the attackers and try to run with the ball through a yellow gate. Red players try to take the ball and pass it out of the red square.
KEY POINTS: Use body feints to lure the defender towards one gate, then quickly change side to other gate.
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS: Coach plays ball into white player. 2 v 2
Review / Reflect (to be completed after each session): Did the player use a body feint and could he dribble through a gate without being tackled?
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
SET UP:Two lines between red cones and two between blue ones. Player in white bib tries to dribble past the red players and score. Red players defend their line and can`t run to the front or back. After shooting, 'white' lines up behind 'yellow', who then can go try to beat the blue player to start all over from the beginning. When the defender wins the ball, he switches with the attacker and continues.
KEY POINTS: After each explosive action you get rest. Make sure there is enough resting time to execute the dribble correctly. After you dribble the first player, keep the ball close by so that you don`t lose it to the second player.
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS: -Have two players on the side so that the 'dribbler' can also pass.
-Defenders can get off their line
Review / Reflect (to be completed after each session) Were the attackers able to pass the defenders and still keep the ball close to them?
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
SET UP: Player put their balls on the 6 yard line. Everyone strikes the ball which has to enter the goal without touching the ground. With every goal you go further away from the goal for your next strike. Who can get the furthest?
KEY POINTS: Strike the ball so that he is off the ground but still on target.
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS: Use other foot, spin 12 times around before you shoot, ...
Review / Reflect (to be completed after each session) How far did the players get? Did they have fun while playing this game? Did it allow them to cool down?

Low intensity tag (10 mins)
SET UP: 4 triangles (aka safe zones) with two agility cones on the front. In the middle are taggers (the more taggers, the lower the intensity) When you get tagged, you become the tagger. You can rest when you enter a safe zone
KEY POINTS: In every triangle only 1 player can rest after jumping over the agility cones. When someone else enters his triangle, he has to leave and thus be eligible to be tagged.
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS: Triangle with yellow cone can have 2 players to further lower intensity. Add safe zones to lower intensity. Change agility cones with other equipment to ask for different skills. Add safe zones to further lower intensity. Add ball
Review / Reflect (to be completed after each session): Did we change directions? Is the moment when we leave the safe zone well-timed?
