Rondo 4v1 (10 mins)

Set-Up: Groups of 4, 3 around 1.

Drill: Players are to play keep-away from the one player in the middle, moving the ball around the outside of the square. When the player in the middle disrupts the possession, he switches with the player on the outside that made the mistake. There is an open side, and players can rotate between the sides in order to make better angles.

Focus of the Drill: Keeping possession, using the correct foot, good decision-making, receiving the ball across the body, playing quickly, moving before the pass is made.

Variations: Add another defender, increase/decrease the size of the grid, include a touch limit

3 Team Defending (20 mins)

Set up: Make a large grid. Divide the team into 3 separate groups. 

Drill: 2 teams are playing possession together while one defends. When possession is lost, the team responsible switches to defense, and the other two teams are playing possession. 

Focus: Good transitioning to defense, defending as a unit,

Let the player's play, but every restart is a goal kick. Big emphasis on CMs demanding the ball in the middle and playing 1 or 2 touch to build up the play. Set up team in a 3-1-2 formation.
