Problem - Blue Winger cutting off pass to WB and pressing CB.
Solution - Can Wide CB pass into CM who drops in to receive back foot (open body position) and uses bounce pass to WB and out.
Coaching Points: Back 3 set up with 2 inside the box - means RED will have a 3v1 overload inside the box when the CF presses the ball.
- Opposite WB can roll inside if the CM opens the pitch up
- CM always drops into a channel to take his man away and to create space for others to roll in.
- Run of the CM cannot be down the ball, has to be across the ball/pitch

Problem - BLUE FB's Advancing to Press our WB's
Solution: WB's to play deeper, and look to roll inside - longer distance for BLUE FB's to press - also our CFs to play wider, outside of the CBs - may cause BLUE FB's to stay back
Coaching Points: Back 3 set up with 2 inside the box - means RED will have a 3v1 overload inside the box when the CF presses the ball.
- The WB's move off where the CM drops into - if the CM drops into a channel, the opposite WB rolls inside to create space and also looking to get on the ball. BLACK lines
- IF the BLUE FB goes in with the WB - GK can clip into area for CF move onto YELLOW line

Problem - BLUE have gone full press
Solution - Use the Gk as an extra outfielder, GK invite the press to find the spare man (2v1 overload in the box)
Coaching Points: RED back 3 go wide and deep to create space - Ask them where they would go if full pressed
When full pressed the RED wide CB's go really wide and deep, this will see how willing the WF are to go in and full pres. Will also leave more space for passes into the WB feet or the CM to drop in.
IF THE GK CANNOT PLAY OUT
- When they go full press, GK clip into the shaded areas if there is no short pass.
- GK is also to play on opposites - play short one side, receive the ball back and clip to the opposite side.
Combine what has been asked in the previous 2 problems
- WB rolling inside when the CM drops in - if the CM drops into the left channel the right WB can come inside as an extra CM

Session Explained:
9v9 SSG Free play, but no throw ins or corners. When the ball goes dead it re starts with the GK, BLUE are looking to score ASAP when they win the ball back, RED are looking to play through the press and attack the goal.
Coaching Points:
Focus for RED (1-3-1-2) is playing out from the back, and look to beat the opposition press by playing through, around or over.
The tactical returns for RED is that we want the RED CB’s to be confident in playing out from the back and encourage them to step in and play the right pass in order to beat the press.
.
BLUE TEAM (1-4-1-3)
Focus for the BLUE is to provide defensive solutions (Block, defend compact and defend central areas) and to then play on the counter
The tactical returns for the BLUE is to improve defending as a unit and to play forward quickly on transition and attack the goal.
