Instructions
4v4+3 (Adapt with numbers)
Directional possession game, objective to play end to end, can be timed defensively or transitional
Coaching Points -
Within 2-3 passes, players should be positioned with maximum width, player(s) who occupy the deepest opposition defensive line and a support option behind the player in possession.
Support players are close enough to combine in possession or enforce a counter press if required.
Optimal player positioning should be between lines or/and in half spaces.
In possession, players have the goal to receive and release the ball within 1 second (high tempo possession).
Passes executed with appropriate weight and pace. Look for diagonal passes.
Dribbling/ Running with the ball is quick, direct and aggressive.
Prevent the opponent from penetrating our defensive shape
Force mistakes – turnovers, flat passes, negative passes
Take control – guide play to where we want the ball to go to and how we are set up to defend.

Yellows are neutrals - teams rotate after set time
