Who: 6,7,8,9,10,11
When: When in possession wide and switching to central/opposite side
Where: Middle Third
Why: Inability to switch channels without turnover.
Session Objective: To execute switching the ball from our wide players into the central area /opposite half space.

Set-Up:
5v5 set up in formation of 2-2-1 with 2 neutrals across the half pitch set-up. 6 channels (3 at each end) placed on 18 yard line and 5m from half way.
Organisation:
Ball can start at either end. Goal is to find one of your players in behind the gates with a through ball, all players required to stay within the gates until a through ball is played.
Team/Player Task:
Can we use the width of the pitch to create gaps in the defensive line and play our front four in behind?
Coaching Points:
Progressions:
Allocate neutrals to a team and create a 6v6 in a 2-3-1 formation.

Set-Up:
6v6 + GK on a half pitch. Back corners are blocked off, and outside thirds of the pitch marked out.
Organisation:
Ball starts with the blue 6 or 8. Ball is looking to attack the big goal, if red wins the ball they attack the small goal on half way.
In order to score a goal, one of the wide players must first receive the ball in a outside channel before we can attack centrally.
Team/Player Task:
Can we create opportunities for our front four to attack in behind centrally?

Passing Practice (20 mins)
Set-Up:Players split between 7 cones across half field set up - 6 in possession and 1 defending in bibs.
Organisation:
Pattern starts with left CDM, players stay at their cone for the next rotation if not making a run. If at one of the cones with multiple players, they rotate to the back of line and next player moves in.
Play starts with a quick combination between the ball side cdm, winger and striker. The non ball side cdm pushes up into the central space vacated by the cam rotating forward and receives the pass and must play to either the cam or right winger. Our defender will follow the run of one player so cdm must scan and play the other who will finish.
Team/Player Tasks:
Can we time our runs and put the correct weight on passes whilst executing this set play to avoid stagnant movement?
Coaching Points:
Progressions:
Add second defender and create a 3v2+GK at end of set play. Encourage right CDM to drive at defensive line before playing in one of his team mates.
