Pac Man:
Select two players to be the Pac Man. They will dribble around and try
to tag any player without the ball. Once they have tagged a runner, he or
she becomes a Pac Man and will go to get a ball and join the hunt.
The players will learn to herd runners into a corner as well as working alone they will be working co- operatively.
Can they be tricky and pretend to strike the ball and dummy the strike and catch the player out.
Progressions:
Give one ball between two players.
Now players work together to tag another player with the ball.
Players can wait outside until they have a partner and can then join as a pait to tag others.
Players will learn to anticipate where the ball from their partner is going to end up.

Bandit
One ball between two.
One bandit /defender.
Three goalkeepers in a three sided goal.
4 outfield players with one bandit trying to defend the three goals which are being attacked by 4 players with two balls.
Players if they win the ball (keepers and Bandits) must find the coach to win the point.
Coach can then play it back into space or serve it to a certain player to facilitate the players involvement.
Decision making for players:
Where to pass to get the player who is in a good position to shoot.
Do I dribble and beat the defender and risk losing the ball.
Movement to find a good position so the passer can find me.

Hospital Tag:
Start a fun game of regular tag.
This way the players will understand the movement of dodging and feinting and accelerating away etc.
Two players are designated taggers and the rest are runners.
After the game of tag introduce soccer balls to each player including taggers.
Object of the game:
Is to tag as many players as you can and get them into hospital
When a player is tagged the player must hold his tagged area like he is wounded and then on his second tag he must hold his other hand to the second “wounded” area.
After a third a tag the player must go to hospital for treatment
This treatment might be toe taps or 5 kick ups etc.
Coaching points might be:
Can you keep the ball close and look for the taggers at the same time.
Can you keep out of sight of some of the players and sneak up on them.
Can you pretend to go for one player and make a swift turn to a different player.
Can you accelerate away with a sharp turn from another tagger.

Gate keeper
Object of Game:
To get through as many gates as possible before they close.
Four players are in gates one in each.
Two are told by coach to open the gates at which time they step out of the gate leaving them open.
This is when the players with balls are allowed to go through the gates.
At any time the coach can shout switch and the players need to adjust and find the open gate.
Progressions:
The players (gate keepers can now) look at the coach and with head movement tell the players they are closed or open.
Dribblers will now be on the lookout for the coach to see which gates are opening and closing.
Game emphasizes:
Good dribbling skills with stops and turns.
Looks over the shoulder.
Progression:
We can add a defender to help the gate keepers.

Marbles
Players start off by passing the ball along the ground into space.
We move this along by asking one player to pass into space and then the other player tries to hit his partners ball. (Stationary or Moving/extra points for moving).
Coaching Points:
Strike the foot down onto the ball making sure to strike half way up or more.
Striking below the half way will cause the ball to rise off the ground.
We want to plant the standing foot beside the ball and pointed towards the target.
Foot needs to be released towards the target so that foot and leg is extended completely down the target line.(And NOT across the body)
