Description

On week 2 we are focusing on the wait of the paas, and receiving the ball to play forward we are introducing the girl on the attacking principal and the 4 Horizontals zone 

Attacking principal

we always play forward first if we can we keep it 

Support – Links to movement but more specifically focuses on how you will support the player on the ball. Support can be provided behind, ahead and beside the player on the ball. In order to provide support effectively, players should look to create space from their movement and look to provide angles and distance to be able to receive the ball.

Movement – Is how players move off the ball to create space for their team mates or for themselves. Players may look to move between lines to receive the ball or make runs in behind and other examples may be players making a double movement to create space for themselves to receive or even moving away from the ball to create space for others to exploit.

Dispersal – Refers to how your team will create space by providing both width and depth. Dispersal is essential not only to allow your team to be able to play but also allow them to use the full width and depth of the pitch

Foundational Warm Up (15 mins)

Organization:

  • 30 x 20
  • 3 teams, every two players (2/4) from each team have balls, the other 2 running around without ball
  • As shown on the diagram players split into 2-3 teams with pinnies
  • Players are given numbers

Instructions:

Players dribble around with the technique below, and they pass to their team meat once the coach call for pass.

Dimaond Receiving repetition (15 mins)

Organization

  • Create a diamond shape with cones 
  • 5 player per diamond a list

Instructions

  • Players pass the ball and fallow there passes
  • Player received the ball and redirect the ball with a first touch to the direction off the other player 
  • passes must be outside of the triangle 

Competition:

Have 2 teams and assign one defender on each team 

teams must pass the ball around of the diamond after the first pass the defender is allow to chase the pass the first defender to intercept the ball win

Defender is not allow to run inside of the diamond 

Coaching Points

  • Receive the ball with the leading foot 
  • inside part of the foot 
  • open the hip and re direct the ball to the directing is need it

Passing Patterns (15 mins)

Organization

  • 30x20 grid split into two channels
  • 1 large cone in the center of the channel
  • 5-8 players per group
  • 1 ball per group
Instructions

Part 1

  • Player A will start with the ball playing into the player B in the middle who checked in from line B from the opposite ,player A will then check into the center ready for the next rotation
  • Player B will open up and play into the side they checked from (B side) then rotate to the back of line A
  • the ball will now start from the opposite side (B line) it came from to repeat the process in the other direction to get the ball into A
Part 2

  • Player A will play the ball into player B who will check in front of the cone from the opposite line
  • Player B will set the ball back into space for A to play a longer pass into the opposite side(B Line)
  • A player who started with the ball will now check in front of the cone and receive the ball from B repeating the process in the oppositedirection
  • After their go players will always rotate to the opposite line.

Progressions

  • Have the groups now compete each pattern see who can get to a certain amount of passes first (coaches choice)
  • now add in the defender to make a 3v1 who will start by the middle cone, the players must get the ball from one end to the other 3
  • times without being intercepted change defenders after every 3 rounds . rotate attacking players every round. if the defenders steelsthey have to play a pass back into the server were the ball first started.

4 v 4 small sided games (30 mins)

Organization

  • 25x35 (5v5) if space available
  • 2 pugs per field
  • U9 can play 7v7 if space is available.

Instructions

  • Players split up into 4 teams.
  • Players must not step inside the red cone areas in front of goal this
  • will stop goal tending, the players must shoot from outside the area
  • Every team need to play 4 passes before they score.

Coaching Points:

1. as the opponent get close stop and start to create the momentum to accelerate and get away from pressure 

2 change of speed to get away into them

3 Control Direction, you should control the ball toward the direction you're going to.

Coaching In the Game (make two stoppages during the end game to reinforce the learning outcomes below)

The focus this week will be focus to create the environment the allow the Players to use the stop start  move  to create space or penetrate on the game situation allow the player to be created
