Set Up: 25*30 grid. Supply of balls along the outside.
Players: Split into two teams (adust as needed).
Description: 6v3 possession game. To score a point, team in possession needs to connect 7 passes to score a point. 14 passes = 2 pts, etc. Defending team must win the ball back and attack one of two mini goals to the side. Doing so is their "ticket out of jail". First pass is free. Simply knocking the ball out of bounds only results in a new passing sequence needed. Possession is retained by the attacking team. Play quick games to 2 and switch losing team.
Key Factors:
First touch away from pressure.
Patience on the ball - proper speed of play. Off the ball movement.
Keep shape and proper dispersal. Look to switch the play. Angle and distance of support.
Split defenders. Passing options - through, around or over.
Proper technique in passing - lock the ankle, follow through. Proper weight/pace of the pass.
Progression: award additional points for defenders stealing the ball and connecting passes amongst themselves.

Set Up: Just over half the field; One large goal; three mini goals at half. Supply of balls between the mini goals.
Players: 16-18 players. 7 blue (1-3-3) v 6 red (1-4-1).
Description: Play starts with the server (CB) playing out to midfield blue. Blue look to attack the large goal by focusing on central build up play - when / how to penetrate. Red can win the ball back and score on any of the three mini goals. Add defenders as the activity progresses. Allow the CB to join the attack.
Key Factors:
1. Force the opposition to be compact to one side allowing for a switch to the weak side. Overload on ball side.
2. Movement to create passing lanes - allowing for the #6 to get the ball and switch the play.
3. Opportunities for the UP-BACK-THROUGH (eg. up to CF, back to supporting mid and through to the winger).
4. Communication.
5. Look for combination play opportunities. 360 support.

Set Up: Half field at North Park. Balls along the outside and in the goals.
Players: 2 teams - 8 outfield and 1 goalkeeper for each team on field. Players manage any substitutions.
Description: Play 9v9 (including GK). All regular rules apply, including retreat line. Each team plays 1-4-3-1. Stop the game periodically to review set pieces (eg. corners and free kicks).
Key Factors:
All coaching points from the session - focus on first touch away from pressure and that first look. Good overall shape - looking to play in between the lines. Lots of communication! Focus on midfielder movement and support as teams build up play. Can we get penetration?

Set Up: Use 18 yard box and area just above. 3 lines set up (as per diagram). Supply of balls at each line.
Players: all (plus GKs), split into three groups. Heaviest concentration in line 2.
Description: crossing and finishing exercise as per the progressions below -
1. Line 3 - Drive and shoot.
2. Line 2 - Drive and shoot.
3 Lines 2 & 3, Cross and finish - near/far post runs from lines 1 & 2. Wide ball comes from Line 2.
4. Line 1 - Drive and shoot.
5. Player who shoots at #4 (from Line 1), spins off and runs near post. Combines with player from Line 3 who crosses in a wide ball played from Line 2. Player who plays the ball from line 2 goes far post.
Key Factors:
Look to shoot - see target, head over ball.
