Players from line A provide 2 defenders and 1 target player. Players from line B are 3 attackers. Play starts with central player playing ball to any wide player. On movement of ball, both defenders pressure the ball. Wide player has option to touch into space and play between or around the pressuring defenders to target player. If not on - can play back to central player or to other wide player. Goal is to get ball to target as quickly as possible. Target player moves and looks for channels. Key points - scan, open, recocnize position of defenders and choose best option - touch distance and direction, where to play ball. Does player always play safe and pass backwards?
Remember to have players switch roles within lines and have the lines switch roles.

Here the red player entered the zone and is under pressure and can't play through. Bumps the ball back and the ball is now played through. Since ball is being played directly from bump back - this is allowed. Otherwise the reds would have to reset with ball in middle zone.

In ths progression - allow a second red player into the middle (one player from each red zone). The ball is in the top zone and player A shows to support ball - player B recognizes opportunity for combination play and makes run to combine with players A. Players can continue runs and play from new zone.
This is a more challenging progression - encourage quick passes when mltple players in the middle zone.
PLayers in the middle zone should be moving - cycle in and out. SCOT principles are key to recognize what is on. Players in end zones should not be standing on the line as spectators - they should be looking for channels and angles and creating depth to receive the pass.

Coaching Points - SCOT, quality of passes and timing of runs.
Players follow there pass.
2 players at each outside cone - 2nd player provides pressure on ball to force good touch away and quality pass. Add mannequin in passing lane to midfield to mimic another defender in position. Passer and receiver must now think and execute.
