Groups: (Grouped in to Pairs.)
A. 2 Groups of Left and Right Wingers. (Total of 8 - 4 each Wing)
B. 2 Groups of Strikers. (Total of 4)
C. 2 Groups of Central Defenders. (Total of 4)
Exercise Begins with the Wingers.
Part 1.
1. One of the wingers feeds the overlapping runner to cross near the byline to the 2 strikers.
2. Strikers must run around the poles at the top of 18 yard box and cris cross
3. Defenders come out to defend the cross and position themselves accordingly.
Part 2.
1. (STRIKERS) Once the Cross and finish is attempted the Strikers Sprint imediately back to the poles and the Coach will then pass the ball in between the poles for one of the 2 strikers to finish.
2. (DEFENDERS) Once the Cross is defended, the defenders must sprint back to the Byline and sprint back to close down the attackers striking the ball at the goals.
Part 3. (Same as Part 1 but from opposite Wing)
1. The same action immediately continues but this time continuing from the opposite Wing
2. Strikers must run around the poles at the top of 18 yard box and cris cross
3. Defenders come out to defend the cross and position themselves accordingly.
Part 4.
Same as part 2.
Coaching Points:
A. (WINGERS) Over lapping runner to time their run and the Inside winger to time & weight the pass.
B. (STRIKERS) Timing of runs in to the box to meet the cross and positioning of each striker as the cross comes in.
C. Strikers to be dynamic in their movements and focus on hitting the target using good technique.
D. Strikers to hit the corners when finish at the top of the box.
E. Defenders to communicate with each other and react to strikers run and the delivery of the cross.
F. Strikers to clear the lines far and wide via head or foot.
