Set Up: set up a 3 section grid and split the team into 3 separate groups each group will start in their own section of the grid
Instructions: the ball starts in one of the end sections of the grid, the team that starts with the ball pass within the grid looking for the opportunity to make a penetrating pass through the team in the middle grid to the team on the far side. ball must stay on the ground for the split pass, not played over the top.
the team in the middle is working on defensive movement and communication trying to maintain their shape and deny the split pass
if the team in the middle stops the pass the team that turned over the ball switches with the central team
PROGRESSION: team in the middle can send one player into the grid with the ball to apply pressure to for a poor pass or win the ball for their team
you can limit touches to 2-3 touches for the attacking side

2. player can dribble into the final third of the field and combine to progress to goal making it a 2v1
3. shots from the center grid are now allowed on top of the being allowed to pass or dribble into the final third
