MOMENT OF THE GAME: PLAYING OUT FROM THE BACK
GEOGRAPHY: ZONES 1-2
STRATEGY:
- Play short while keeping width and staying disciplined to play through the press.
- using the #6,8 and 10 to create 3v1 overloads down the sides of the pitch to cut through the lines of press
- maintaining a high forward line to create the space needed in the middle of the park.
TACTICS- create triangles, keeping fullbacks and centre backs disciplined enough to not collapse and create tight passing areas.
- movement from the 3 midfielders to create overloads out wide, drawing in opponent before breaking lines and reposition the play to the open side.
- Quick ball movement, can we play on 2 touch? can we play "UP, BACK and THROUGH" to get out of a press?
SKILL SETS REQUIRED:- GOOD FIRST TOUCH
- ABILITY TO PLAY SHARP PASS IN TIGHT AREA
- CHECK OFF OPPONENT AT THE RIGHT TIME TO CREATE SPACE.
