Organisation
5 Red v 2 Blue
Create area as above 30 x 20 yards.
2 mins then rotate players.
Red Team:
Can they look for split passes (through/around)
Score a point if they get the ball from one side to the other.
Can they also look for their player in the middle?
Limit touches to speed up play.
Red players can support by moving up their lines.
Blue Players:
Defending players can intercept any passes and can put pressure on any player.
If they win possession, return it to any North/South Red player.
Avoid getting split down the middle. Compact. Constant movement.
Progression
East/West red players can only play the ball backwards tin the direction from which they received it.

Organisation
Set up pitch as above.
Split players into two teams - red and blue. Each team is split into pairs.
GK in each goal.
Instructions
Red player plays the ball to blue pair. Blue pair attack opposite goal and seek to score quickly - 8 secs to score. Red team defend as a pair.
Attacking Blue team become defenders and red pair, who have just defended immediately become attackers. New Blue defenders play the ball into red pair and play continues.
High tempo.
Offside rule applies.

Positioning.
Critical Defending - stop the shot.
Distance between defenders v marking the opposition? man to man?

Organisation
9 x Blue (including GK) v 8 x Red.
Play commences from either red player in shaded area.
Initially, all players must remain within their lined area.
Instructions
Red team seek score as usual.
Blue team engage opposition at pressing line only.
Pressing line indicated by red line.
Coaching Points
Midfield line and Defensive line shuffle across as far as possible - narrow and compact.
Sitances between blue players.
Checking Shoulders to screen opposition.
Work in pairs in all areas of the pitch.
Manage Red Players:
Playing between the lines
Make the pitch big.
Quality of pass.
Movement ot recieve.
Receiving skills.
Width from wingers.
Full backs and wingers not playing on the same lines.
Progressions
Allow red players to move anywhere.
Allow blue players to move into adjoining lines area as well as their own.
All players free to move anywhere.

Organisation

Instructions
Simple passing between pairs - concentrating on weight and accuracy of pass - a firm pass is essential. Progress to two touch.
Progressions
1. Receiving player stops the balls and completes the following before returning the ball:
20 x toe taps
5 Step Overs
20 shuttle passes
2. Receiving player receives the ball and shields it from the passing player who seeks to recover possession.
