Switching play

Primary Focus

Specific practice where each team will have the opportunity to switching play so all players will gain a better understanding of switching play, making the pitch bigger, shifting the ball from one side to the other and taking advantage of the space to progress to the finishing zone.

Organisation

18 Players will be organized into two teams. The red team will be1-3-2-2 and the yellow team 1-2-3-2

Area Size

The area size will be one half of the field 50m in length and 60m wide. With 2 channels at the sides of 10m each, marked with yellow. And also the definition area, 

marked with blue will 10 meters at each goal.

Explanation

The task consists of having possession of the ball and moving it from one side to the other to create space. The yellow zones are the two zones

 the ball must pass through before progressing to the blue zone, which is the finishing zone. Only one defender +1 goalkeeper and two attackers can enter the blue zone.

The blue team will begin in possession and they will try to make the pitch big and move the ball around the opposition, while passing to target playersto progress 

and switching the point of attack.The red team will be defending and they will try to deny the pass from one yellow zone to the other yellow zone byintercept passes 

and winning the ball while using the transition toscore. The team that score in transition get 1 point and the team that have possession and score get 2 points

Conditions

The pitch will be conditioned with three channels and three zones to support players understanding of space.The only way to get into the blue zone is after touching the ball in the 2 yellow zones.
These lines will supportthe team in possession in terms of distances between each other and being in different channels to make the pitch bigger and also these lines help the team out of 

possession to be narrow and compact. 

Challenges

The challenge is for the team in possession to switch the play to the oposite side
