FUNCTIONAL TACTICAL PHASE 1 - 4X4 SSG
ORGANIZATION
8 players per grid plus GKs

DESCRIPTION
Begin as per the diagram ( 3x2 or 2x1) dependes on numbers avaiability...Ball starts from the GK , that will play 4 or 5, The two defenders 4,5 will try to split the defenders and play it to #9 that also will create a separation to receive the ball from the back.
Once the #9 receives it, one defender from the opposing team enter the field to create a 2 x 1 situation, if the defendder intercept the ball, he will play it forward witg the intention to counter as quick as possible.
if the defender decides to use the GK, make a 2x1 on the defensive 1/2 to get a counter attack.
COACHING POINTS
1- 3R's ( ask the players which are they)Receive,Retain,Release
2- Can you penetrate or be patiet with the ball( can I receive long from the GK or short) Why?
3- Body shape to receive ( is my position individually or my my body shape will help my team, Why?
4Can I facilitate the 3rd man runnig, How?

DESCRIPTION
4x2 at each half
Following the previous, by playing from the back, as soon the ball enter the opposing defensive 1/2 , 1 defender can join the attackers and creates a 3x3 scenario going to goal.
PROGRESSION PHASE - ELIMINATE THE HALF WAY LINE (play a regular 6x6)
COACHING POINTS
1- REMEMBER THE 3 R's and 3P's
2 - Can I break the line
3 - Can the receiver creates a separation to receive and turn(Am I in a position to shoot, if not what's next?)

WARM UP PHASE 1 - "TOSSING THE BALLON" (10 MIN)

DESCRIPTION
At the initial phase the player will toss the ball up in the air, and attempt to control, first wit the chest, second with his thigh, thrid with the shoes laces, fourth with the sole of the feet, 5 attemps at each.
PROGESSION 1
Now we add a server the will toss the ball up in the air(under hands serving) so he teammate will attempt to trap with the inside of his foot, bring the ball down, and play it back to the server, 5 attemps on each foot then rotate ( server becames a player to trap )
Follow the sequence for each session of trapping the ball, shoe laces,thigh,chest.
PROGESSION 2
Now they become more familiar with the ball up and down, we challenge them to a small competiition in traping and drible the cone inside their own square, they will bring the ball down and take a touch to take the defender out(Tall cone) 5 attemps on each feet and tight)
Rotate the players after each 5 attemps)
COACHING POINTS
1 - iMPORTANCE OF DONT LET THE BALL BOUNCES BEFORE YOU TRAP IT .
2 - IF BOUNCE WHATS NEXT
3 - TRY TO GET TO BALL BEFORE IT BOUNCES, WHY?
4- BODY SHAPE TO RECEIVE THE VBALL IN THE AIR, IF ON MY SIDE WHATS NEXT, IF TO HIGH TAKE A STEP BACK, IF TOO SHORT TAKE A STEP FORWARD, WHY?
