UEFA B ATTACKING FROM WIDE AREAS

7 V 7

Coach working with the red team. ( wide players in particular)

Objective- Attack from wide areas

Principle- Can we create goal scoring opportunities from playing out wide.

Success- To be creative on the wing..

Organisation- Play starts from the GK every time.

The blues play 1-3-2-1

The reds play 1-2-3-1

The blues can play however they like with no restrictions.

The reds are NOT locked into areas but if they score from the ball coming from the wide area the goal counts as 2 goals.

Individual

Body shape to receive the ball on the back foot.

Positive attitude, can we beat the full back 1 v 1.

Technique of tricks to beat opponent e.g. step overs , dummies, scissors

Can we then deliver an end product in to the prime target area ( PTA )

Look for striker running to front post. ( Driven cross)

Look for winger running to far post ( Lofted cross)

First time cross to catch players out.

If there are no options can we cut into the half space and have a chance on goal.
