Pattern Play 1:
6 Plays to opposite 6.
6 Disguises pass into weakside 10 who turns and dribbles forward
Weakside 11 makes bending run into space opened by 9/10
Strongside 7 Makes bending run down the line.
Now weakside 9/10 takes space vacated by 11.
9/10 Has 3 Options:
1. Play 11 in behind on goal (others crash)
2. Play 7 down line who can then cross
3. Trailing run 9/10 out wide (others crash)
*Back 4 Works on Swinging the ball around on the ground but driven.
Coaching Points:
Timing of movements
Disguising intentions
Execution of run and pass
Strong side 7 - Bending Run out wide (unless OB is overlapping)
Weakside 10/11 one needs to threaten in behind.
Weakside 6 higher up to provide balance and passing option

Position Specific Defensive Training
Defenders do this while attackers are finishing
1) Play ball to feet. Defenders have two touches to get it back. Communication and Shape.
2) Headers. Defenders work on clearing it to me. Communication and Shape.
3) Now add Long ball & Dribbling threat. Also add when the ball is played backwards. What do they do?
4) Now add when they win the ball. What do they do? Back four opens up and server acts as HM. Server says "we lost it" Now what?

8v7+GK Endzone Game
2 Blocks of 4 Minutes 2 min rest in between
Play the whole half to one big goal and two counter goals. Both teams have to play inside the restraining lline which is 35 yards from goal.
Scoring: 1 PT if Att Team scores after dribbling across line; 3 PTs if score by playing through ball in behind. Def team 2 pts if win it and score in counter goal.
Coaching Points:
Runs trigger pass / Runs.
Pass & Player through different seam.
Recognition of when to exploit space in behind.

1. Chaos Finishing Game (15 mins)
Chaos Finishing Game
Set-up: Played within the 18
- 3 attackers, 3 defenders. when ball is wide - one defender goes out to defend and Attacker looks to cross the ball into runners.
- 3 Different servers to always make it 4v3. Start by playing ball into 3 attackers.Total of 4 Balls.
Rules:
Exercise starts with a service into 3 attackers. Ball is dead when it is in the goal, out of play or cleared over the arc servers who may one touch the ball back into the box if it isn't cleared properly.
1st ball played into 3 attackers.
2nd ball played to wide service
3rd ball played to opposite wide service.
4th Ball Central player comes on with ball.
Switch 2 defenders after sequence. Repeat 3 x total for each player.
Coaching Points
Defenders: 1. Defend width of box on crosses. 2. Defensive Shape / Awareness (Reading the crosser & Runner).
Attackers: create space to shoot or drive at defenders. Wide play be aggressive in attacking space. Box organization when getting on end of the cross.
Near post run, cut back ball and far post ball (every time)
