3v3+3
Two teams of three play in a 20x30yd area with a third team of neutrals. The three blues are neutral and always play with the attacking team who represent 3 central players. A team scores a point if they get 5 passes in a row. If the defending team steals the ball they have to expand into attacking shape by taking the place of the former attacking team.
Objective: To teach the positional roles and movement of midfields in a midfield 3 while reinforcing the concepts of transitions, immediate pressure on the ball and technical habits. Play for 3-4 minutes and teams switch roles with the neutral team.
Coaching points:
*2-3 touch max
*Open up and recieve across the body
*Find open players to create combinations and triangles and diamonds in support of the ball.
*Awareness of space and pressure
