Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): Turn Outside cut

Warm up (15 mins)

Organization:

1. Team divided in two groups as show.

2. Two gates

3. Two minutes play, 30 seconds rest

Instructions:

1. Two players will compite in a relay race,who reach gate first.

2. Players will run forward, and go around cones as shown, after the turn whoever reach red gates, will obtain a point

Coaching Points:

1. Speed

2. Turning

3. Change of direction

Progressions:

1. Introduce soccer balls, every player with a soccer ball.

Activity 2 (15 mins)

Organization:

1. Two small goals

2. One team with soccer balls,other team with out.

3. Two teams standing as shown.

Instructions:

1. One player dribble towards tall cones as shown, as soon tall cones are reach, players must turn to the right or left, using inside turn,and score on goals as shown.

2. Player 2, can pressure player with the ball, as soon players pass blue markers, creating a 1v1 situation.

3. Players continue same sequence.

Coaching Points:

1. Ball control (small touches, keep ball close to their feet as they dribble)

2. Positive first touch going to middle grid

3. Correct technique as they turn

- Non kicking foot, slightly behind the ball, to provide room to turn.

- Sharp turn, and use the inside of kicking foot ,to turn.

4. Balance, coordination

Progressions:

1. Players can score on goal after they turn (2)

2. Team scores more goals win, do a game.
