Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): Building out of the back

Technical warm up (15 mins)

Technical Warmup: Diamond Drill (20 Mins)

Area is set up into a diamond, and the drill is repeated at either end. Area is 30 x 30

Organization:

Player 1 plays ball into 2 who checks from middle on an angle and plays to 3, who receives behind flag, turns and dribbles to the end, and joins the next line. 1 and 2 follow their pass

Variation:

1. Player 2 receives and plays ball in behind flag for 3 to run on to.

2. Player 2 sets ball back to 1 who plays ball in behind for 3 to run onto (see Diagram)

3. Same as 2, but 1 plays to 3 who does 1-2 combination with 2.

4. 1 plays to 2 who plays to 3, and overlaps, 3 sets back to 1 who play ball in behind to 2 (1 moves to 3, 3 moves to 2)

Key Points:

Timing of movement (offside line are flags), quality and accuracy of passes, 1st touch, communication and ques, Supporting on angles.
