Part 1 (10 mins)

Warm up overview : Cooperation between 9 & wingers : passing

  • Players with the balls between mini goals - standing in the small que.
  • Three players without the ball standing as a number 9 (cental player) and number 11 & 7 (wingers)
  • Coach standing behind central player.
  • 2 no mini goals at each side of central circle.

Session detail:

  • This warm-up sees cooperation between no9 and wingers that involves small passing pattern with back foot reception and movement away from defender.
  • The ball starts from central cirle. First player in the que (No10) plays to a teammate (No9) who plays back to him on one touch. No10 with one touch plays to one of the wingers. Wingers should drop off a little bit from the cone and take the ball on the back foot with turn. After that winger is going through the cones and pass the ball to mini goal on his side. Straight after that winger is doing dynamic warm-up drill to the red cone. Once he finished he can take the ball from the goal and back to the que.
  • Transition -> No10 is going to be No9 (follow the ball) & No9 is going to be a winger No7 or No11 depends where we pass the ball. No7 or No11 - back to the que
  • We change the side of playing after every single time. Once left - once right.

Coaching detail:

Open body position  (No7&No11)

  • Wide players always in open position and ready to receive the ball on the back foot.

Play to back foot to wide players

  • No10 is always looking to play good ball to the wide players on their back foot.
Receive with turn (wide players no7 & no11)
  • No7 & No11 always trying to receive the ball with turn.

Dynamic warm-up drill after final pass to the goal - point no 5

  • Dynamic warm-up drills after final pass to the goal. Encourage players to do it properly.
